Sun., Apr 1, 1917  VILLERS AU BOIS FRANCE

Headquarters established in Billet No:6 – Rue de Carencey – VILLERS AU BOIS.   The remainder of the Battalion are billeted in adjacent huts – VILLERS AU BOIS.
Transport Section under Lieut. T.C. Wasson and Quartermaster Stores under Lieut. T. C. Pennie, located at GOUY approximately 4 kilometers West of VILLERS AU BOIS.
Weather very unsettled and heavy rain at intervals.

The morning was devoted to cleaning kit and equipment.  Rifle inspection and kit inspection held by Officers Commanding Companies – Details and Sections.
The strength of the Battalion is now 31 Officers and 947 Other Ranks – this includes 7 men attached to the Battalion from 8th Brigade Trench Mortar Battery – Stokes Gun.
