2nd April 1917: Diary


6 AM Weather dull and cold.
9 AM Company parade held by respective Company Officers.
10 AM Owing to the very inclement weather it was impossible to hold further parades, and lectures on the new Small Box Respirator and Respirator Drill was held in Huts.  Battalion Standing Orders by Lieut.Col. G. C. Johnston – M.C. were also read to all recent arrivals.
2 PM Very heavy fall of snow which continued throughout the afternoon.
5 PM Bathing parades at VILLERS AU BOIS and GOUY SERVINS held during the afternoon.
9 PM A party of 2 Officers and 130 other ranks were detailed for work under Engineers at BERTHONVAL FARM.Lieut. J. S. Richardson and Lieut. J. Mayor reported to the Battalion for duty from the 3rd Entrenching Battalion as Supernumerary Officers and were posted to “A” Company.
