6th April 1917: Diary

Fri., Apr 6, 1917    S28 C.1.3

6 AM Weather fine – clear – wind North.
10 AM Hostile artillery activity on our Support Trenches.
6 PM Our batteries cutting enemy wire all day – hostile shelling steady throughout day on Support and Communication Trenches.
Weather showery – trenches very muddy.
Parties of men working night and day filling stores with S.A.A. – Bombs etc.
1 Casualty.
Wind still north and situation lively.
